Media Course at the Herbert Art Gallery

Robert Nolan, the Inclusion Officer at the Herbert Art Gallery emailed me asking if any of the young people I work with would be interested in a free summer media course called ‘Getting involved’ so I took a few details and began circulating this information BUT school has ended and I will have to resume in the new term . But me being so curious asked if I could have a peep at what this course was about and perhaps help out. Today I came along just to help out and turns out that the young people on this course are teaching me a few tricks or two! This is a brilliant course, excellent tutors and very insightful. Today I have had a proper tour of the gallery, had a sneak peek at the recording studios and I have learned to write a blog. Tomorrow we will do more amazing things with technology. The young people on this course are so eager to speak out and have already began planning a project where they will confront issues that affect them. By learning how to use certain media may help them in their pursuits. Technology does have its uses….maybe I am not such a lyddite after all.
